I’m a Peterborough United fan. I can’t help it, it just turned out that way.
At a school fete back in 1990 when I was still in sandals and short trousers I was lured in, possibly by being brought up on an unhealthy diet of Bullseye, by a dartboard littered with less-than-glittering prizes, including a bottle of Blue Nun.
Mrs Clarke was hardly Jim Bowen (more Bully himself, if truth be known), but when she handed over those three arrows it would change my life forever. The second of the three pierced a pair of tickets to Peterborough United versus Lincoln City.
The 2-0 game had me hooked and I’ve made regular appearances in the London Road stand ever since.
It could have all been so different if I’d have got that Blue Nun…
